Jamshedpur, Feb 9: A delegation of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry met Joint Commissioner State Tax (Administration) Sanjay Prasad on Saturday and discussed their various problems pertaining to GST payment.
They apprised the Joint Commissioner about practical difficulties being caused by e-way bill related norms. They said state commercial tax officials confiscated vehicles during weighing of consignments. They said e-way bills are prepared only after weighing. As a result, fines are imposed on the traders for not carrying e-way bills, they said.
The Chamber members said penalty should not be imposed on the traders on petty issues. They were advised by the Joint Commissioner to ensure that the vehicles going for weighing should carry challans in which it is mentioned that the vehicles are going for weighing purpose.
Those who met Prasad included Rajeev Agrawal, Ashok Bhalotia, Vijay Anand Moonka, Bharat Vasani, Manav Kedia, Dinesh Choudhary and Mahesh Sonthalia.
